Filming Project Policies



Commercial/professional photography is prohibited without prior consent; fees apply.

Schedule: The availability of hours for filming projects and photoshoots is at the sole discretion of the Oaks Park Events Department. The schedule for the shoot must be approved in advance by the Oaks Park Events Director.

Reservations: Reservations must be made a minimum of 28 business days in advance. Reservations requested less than 28 business days in advance will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 50% of your fee is required to make a reservation.

Credit Card Authorization Form: In order to set your reservation, you must complete and submit a Credit Card Authorization Form to be kept on file through the date of your shoot. You may pay using another means, but a valid credit card form to keep on file must be provided even when paying by cash or check, no exceptions. The credit card on file must have an expiration date that falls after the date of your shoot.

Agreement: Your full and final details and order are due 28 business days in advance. A signed Event Reservation Form is required 21 business days in advance.

Payment: The balance of your fee is due 7 business days before the shoot date. If another form of payment has not been received by the due date, the card on file will automatically be charged the balance.

Insurance: A minimum of 21 business days before the shoot, you must provide Oaks Park with a certificate of insurance with a minimum liability of $2,000,000 ($1,000,000 per occurrence). The certificate must name Oaks Park Association at 7805 SE Oaks Park Way, Portland, OR 97202, as a certificate holder.

Arrival and Departure: You must adhere to the timeframe as listed in your signed Event Reservation form. Early setup and/or late departure will result in additional charges of $550 per hour, billed in full-hour increments to the card on file. There are no refunds/discounts should you choose to vacate before the end of the contracted time frame.

Equipment/Materials: The organizer is responsible for providing all materials and equipment except those items specifically listed on the signed Event Reservation form. You must receive permission from the on-duty manager before repositioning/altering any of Oaks Park's property including, but not limited to: benches, signage, decor, etc. If permission is given to move/alter any materials or equipment, you must return the item to its original location before the end of the shoot timeframe listed in the signed Event Reservation form. Only the locations/areas specified in the signed Event Reservation form may be utilized; no part of the shoot may interfere with non-contracted areas, public walkways, parking lots, etc. All areas will be used in as-is condition unless otherwise specified in the signed Event Reservation form. Third-party equipment providers must complete a separate policy acknowledgment and supply a certificate of insurance.

Decorating: Only painter’s/gaffer’s tape or Command 3M Removable hooks may be used on any surface; no other adhesives, nails, screws, tacks, etc., may be used. Oaks Park's signage may only be covered or obscured with permission from the on-duty manager. No bubble machines, fog machines, confetti, glitter, rice, or pyrotechnics are permitted. Nothing may stake into the ground. You are responsible for the removal of signs, decorations, and materials used to secure signs and decorations.

Setup and Cleanup: As reasonable, Oaks Park staff will provide the setup, tear-down, and cleanup of any materials provided by Oaks Park before/after your shoot. You are responsible for all setup and tear-down of materials not belonging to Oaks Park. By the conclusion of the timeframe listed in the signed Event Reservation form, the area must be vacated with all materials not belonging to Oaks Park removed or disposed of in the provided trash receptacles. Oaks Park property must be left in the same condition found upon arrival or a minimum fee of $500 will be charged to the card on file.

Special Roller Rink Considerations: No equipment may be set up on the wood skating surfaces without permission from the on-duty manager on the day of the shoot; protective materials must be used to protect the skating floor if permission is granted. Shoes are welcome on the skating floor. Rental skates are available by request. Roller Rink safety rules apply to skaters.

Food and Beverages: Participants may supply their own food/non-alcoholic beverages from home for consumption during the shoot. Craft services/outside catering, defined as any entity other than a grocery store being paid to supply food, and outside concessions, defined as any entity collecting fees from participants for onsite food service, are prohibited unless specifically noted in the signed Event Reservation form; additional fees and paperwork may apply. Outside alcohol is strictly prohibited. Food/beverages may not be consumed on any attractions. For shoots utilizing the Roller Rink, outside food/beverages may not be consumed within the building.

Trash: Trash and recycling receptacles are provided by Oaks Park within the area. Trash/recycling will be removed as needed by Oaks Park staff.

Amplified Sound: Amplified sound is allowed if the volume is kept at a level that is respectful of our neighbors and Oaks Park's general operations. Oaks Park does not offer sound equipment rentals; you must provide all of your own sound equipment. Oaks Park reserves the right to monitor volume and content must align with Oaks Park's mission of providing safe, wholesome, family fun. Instructions regarding sound must be complied with or termination of the shoot, without refunds, may ensue. For shoots taking place during public hours, amplified sound is prohibited.

Attractions: Access to attractions (rides, games, mini golf, etc.) requires a separate staff fee. No participant in the shoot may enter any ride gates, locked building, employee-only areas, etc., unless permission to do so has been expressly stated in the signed Event Reservation form. For photoshoots taking place during public hours, the photoshoot may not disrupt regular operational procedures. Restrooms: Restroom facilities will be available during the shoot. The set(s) of available restrooms are at the sole discretion of Oaks Park; not all restroom locations may be open at all times.

Retail Parking: Parking fees apply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Parking fees are per day and are payable onsite via self-service parking meters or on your mobile device at t2p.mobi/oaks1905. Only credit/debit cards are accepted at the parking meters; please visit Guest Services to pay with cash. Parking spaces are first-come, first-served and the lot frequently fills to capacity; do not purchase your parking until you have a parking space onsite. There are no refunds. Failure to pay the parking fee will result in penalties. Carpooling is strongly recommended.

Peak Rates are in effect before 4:45 PM on all Saturdays, Sundays, and select holidays during the amusement park season. Complimentary bus parking is available when arranged in advance. The parking lot is private property and is only available to visitors of Oaks Park. Vehicles not parked in designated parking stalls and those that block the flow of traffic will be towed at the owner’s expense. The closest bus stop is approximately 1 mile away; visit the Tri-Met trip planner to plan your route. Bike racks are available near the Roller Rink. Rates are subject to change without notice.

Group Parking: You can cover the parking fees for your guests by adding Group Parking to your order. You will choose a unique alphanumeric Group Parking Code which your guests to enter at any onsite parking meter on the day of your event (3 character minimum, 10 character maximum). Within 14 business days after the event, your card on file will be charged at the daily rate for the total number of times your code is redeemed. Each vehicle will only be able to redeem the code once. You can limit the number of vehicles that may redeem your code. You will be responsible for distributing your code to your guests in advance of the event. You are responsible for ensuring that only your invited guests are given the code; Oaks Park is not liable if uninvited individuals use your code. Parking spaces are available on a strict first-come, first-served basis and Group Parking Codes do not guarantee access to a parking spot. Lots often fill to capacity on weekends and event days in the summer. Group Parking Codes cannot be used through the online portal. Parking fees are non-refundable; no exceptions. Group Parking must be added to your order a minimum of 28 business days before your event.

Vehicle Access: Vehicle access to the Midway, Roller Rink loading dock, picnic areas, Dance Pavilion, etc., is strictly limited to vehicles that need to unload supplies. You must have an Oaks Park staff escort to access your area; call 503-863-0613 upon arrival to request a staff escort. Please load your materials into as few vehicles as possible to keep the unloading process as efficient as possible. Vehicles must move to the parking lot immediately after unloading. For shoots with more than 10 third-party exhibitors/vendors, Oaks Park Security personnel must be hired at the retail rate to direct and oversee loading/unloading. At any time, vehicle access to any area of the park may be limited or suspended. Oversized vehicles are limited to the parking lot and are not able to access the picnic areas, Dance Pavilion, Midway, or Roller Rink loading dock.

Animals: Friendly dogs and service animals are welcome when leashed and attended at all times. Owners must clean up after their animals. Animals are not permitted on any attractions.

Prohibited Items: Fireworks, weapons, drugs (including marijuana), and personal alcoholic beverages are prohibited on Oaks Park property. Individuals under the influence may not be allowed to stay. Water balloons, water slides, dunk tanks, chalk (sidewalk chalk, spray chalk, etc.), hay/haybales, sawdust/bark dust, piñatas, bubble machines, glitter/confetti of any kind, pyrotechnics, raw rice, hammocks, fog machines, and inflatables/bounce houses are also not allowed.

Damage: You assume the financial responsibility for repairs to and/or replacement of Oaks Park property that is damaged as the result of negligence or misuse on the part of the organizer(s) or participants.

Cancellations and Rescheduling: You may cancel up until 28 business days before the shoot date without financial obligation beyond the forfeiture of the non-refundable deposit. Cancellations requested less than 28 business days before the shoot date will forfeit the non-refundable deposit and the card on file will be billed for any staff time or hard costs incurred in preparation for the shoot. You may reschedule your shoot up to 3 business days before the shoot and the deposit will transfer to the new date. Reservations cannot be rescheduled within 3 business days of the reserved date.

Weather: Oaks Park is open rain or shine. Weather-related rescheduling must be completed a minimum of 3 business days before the reserved date.

Guest Guidelines: The general guest guidelines apply. All participants must behave in a way conducive to Oaks Park’s mission of providing safe, wholesome, family fun. If in the sole opinion of Oaks Park management, any participant's behavior, dress, etc., does not adhere to the standards maintained within the park, all participants will immediately vacate the property. Boudoir-style photography is not permitted.
