Whether making a family outing, mingling with neighbors at a fair or festival, connecting with your coworkers at a company picnic, or celebrating one of life's special occasions with friends, time spent at Oaks Amusement Park is an experience that brings people together in joy.
In 1985, the Bollinger Family donated the park to the nonprofit 501(c)(3) Oaks Park Association, whose mission is to perpetuate and steward this special place as an affordable and accessible family-friendly attraction that creates lasting memories for visitors. Today, "The Oaks" is one of the oldest amusement parks in the country and one of just five nonprofit amusement parks operating in the U.S. today.
In 2025, we celebrate 120 years of entertaining our community. We are honored by our place in Portland history and remain committed to providing safe, wholesome recreation for generations to come. For the first time in our forty years as a non-profit, we invite you to join us in ensuring that this local landmark continues to delight Oregonians for the next 120 years.
Oaks Amusement Park is open and accessible to all. All ages and cultures come together with day visits, family gatherings, public fairs, festivals, and fundraisers.
Oaks Park supports hundreds of nonprofit organizations annually with group events, nonprofit discounts, and free ride attractions.
Last year Oaks Park benefitted the Oregon and Washington communities in numerous ways.
Everyone should fun at Oaks Park. Since 2021, rides on our historic carousel and train have been completely free during regular operating hours. We also provide free rides on all our attractions for disadvantaged children through partnerships with local nonprofit organizations that support kids with high Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) scores, allowing them to enjoy a day at the park without any cost.
There were once over 1,000 trolley parks in the U.S. Now Oaks Amusement Park is one of only 12 such parks remaining in existence and the last historic trolley park on the West Coast. Home to the oldest roller rink in the country, old-growth vegetation, vintage attractions, and original 1905 midway structures, we work to celebrate, rehabilitate, adapt, and protect our past for the enjoyment and fulfillment of future generations.
Building off our 60+ year history of quality roller staking instruction, the Oaks Park STEM program offers affordable classroom field trips that introduce students to science, technology, engineering, and math principles in a unique, fun, and engaging way. We host a special homeschool STEM & Skate program twice monthly for at-home learners, plus we offer public STEM events designed to ignite a love of STEM learning in every household.
