Home School Rides Event Policies

Event Date and Time: The Home School Rides event takes place annually on the Friday after Labor Day.  The 2024 date and time is September 6 from 12-4 PM.

Purchasing: The number of Ride Bracelets offered during the event is limited; to guarantee admission you must purchase Ride Bracelets online in advance. Ride Bracelets are available for online purchase starting 90 days in advance. Walk-in purchasing is subject to availability. Ride bracelets are required for everyone participating in attractions. Non-riders are welcome to enter the park at no charge. Each rider must have their own Ride Bracelet including supervising companions/parents riding with children; bracelets are non-transferable and are only valid for the original wearer. Transferred bracelets will be voided without refunds. Ride bracelet tickets must be redeemed for a ride bracelet at the Ticket Booth on the date of the event. If you wish to use a Chipper Card to book your tickets, call 503-233-5777 or email weborders@oakspark.com M-F between 9 AM and 4 PM.

Refunds and Cancellations: Ride bracelet tickets are non-refundable. Tickets are only valid for the day of the event.

Arrival Time: Ride bracelets are valid from 12-4 PM on the day of the event. You do not have to arrive at opening; you may arrive anytime during operating hours until 1 hour before close.

Rider Requirements: Ride Bracelets allow unlimited access to the rides during the event hours. Rider requirements and restrictions vary by ride; please visit our Ride Guide for details. Roller skating, miniature golf, and games are sold separately.

Proof of Enrollment: We do not require proof that you are a homeschooling family to attend this event.

Food/Beverages: Midway concessions will be operational during all amusement park hours; view menu. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages into the amusement park; outside alcohol is strictly prohibited. Tables on the midway are reserved for guests with purchases from our concessions. A limited number of first-come, first-served picnic tables are available at the south end of the park.

Parking: A parking fee of $3 per vehicle applies during Home School Rides. The parking fee is payable onsite via self-service parking meters or on your mobile device at t2p.mobi/oaks1905. Only credit/debit cards are accepted at the parking meters; please visit Guest Services to pay with cash. Parking spaces are first-come, first-served and the lot frequently fills to capacity; do not purchase your parking online until you have a parking space onsite. There are no refunds. Failure to pay the parking fee will result in penalties. Carpooling is strongly recommended. Complimentary bus parking is available when arranged in advance. The parking lot is private property and is only available to visitors of Oaks Park.  Vehicles not parked in designated parking stalls and those that block the flow of traffic will be towed at the owner’s expense. The closest bus stop is approximately 1 mile away; visit the Tri-Met trip planner to plan your route. Bike racks are available near the Roller Rink. Rates are subject to change without notice.

Ride Maintenance: There are no refunds or price reductions if a ride is closed for maintenance during all or part of the operating day.

Weather: Oaks Park is open rain or shine. When an extreme heat warning is in effect, the park may close early. There are no weather-related refunds, exchanges, or rain checks.
