Celebrate 100 years of the Oaks Park Carousel on National Carousel Day! Since 1926, this treasured landmark has delighted generations of families, and we're marking its milestone with a day of special activities honoring its remarkable history.

Free carousel rides all day from 12-8 PM.  Explore historical displays highlighting the Carousel's century-long legacy, pick up a commemorative souvenir button while supplies last, and take a memorable ride alongside Portland's Royal Rosarians from 2:00–3:00 PM. At 3:00 PM enjoy a free slice of birthday cake while supplies last.

Be part of Carousel history by leaving a message, memory, or wish for the future in our special Carousel Time Capsule, which will remain sealed until the Carousel's 125th anniversary in 2031.

Through September 2

Designed just for younger guests, enjoy two hours on kiddie and select family attractions with gentle thrills, followed by snack and story time with Chipper the Squirrel. It’s the perfect way for preschoolers to experience the magic of the park—at a pint-sized pace!

Admission: $13.50 per child

One adult rides free per paid child.  Older children are welcome when attending with a child 6 or youger; admission fee applies to all children.  Dates regularly sell out; buy tickets online in advance to guarantee admission.

Rides for home-schooling families from 12-4 PM

Homeschool families, this one’s just for you! Join us at our annual “Not-Back-to-School” Day—a fun-filled Friday after Labor Day made for celebrating learning outside the classroom.

Enjoy an afternoon of classic amusement park fun, from rides to fresh air and time together with your community. It’s the perfect way to kick off the school year on your own schedule!

Ride Wristbands: $21.50 per person
Everyone who is riding must have their own wristband or Chipper Bucks including parents who are assisting children.

Roller skating, mini golf, and games are sold separately.
