Introduction to Roller Skating

About
Age Limit & Skating Ability

The Intro Program is divided into four ability levels: Youth I/II, Adult I/II, Youth III, and Adult III.

Youth courses are for skaters 15 and younger. Adult courses are for 16 and over.

Level I/II is for beginner skaters. To enroll in the Level III class you must have successfully completed the Level I/II class or have instructor permission.

While all class levels share the skating floor during instructional time, each level will work with its own dedicated USA Roller Sports certified coach.

Course Dates

Our introductory class is a progressive, 4-week course focusing on the development of basic skating skills and safe skating practices.

At the time you purchase your course admission, you will select the 1st week of your 4-week course. Some 4-week courses have break-weeks due to holidays. 2024/2025 course dates are:

  • OCT 5-26
  • NOV 2-23
  • DEC 7-JAN 11 (no class 12/21 or 12/28)
  • JAN 18-FEB 8
  • FEB 15-MAR 8

Class Times

When registering for a Level I/II course, you will choose from 12-12:25 PM or 12:30-12:55 PM for your section timeslot. You must attend the same timeslot each week.

Skaters registered for the 12-12:25 PM section must clear the main skating floor from 12:30-1 PM, but may practice on the side floors while waiting for the Open Skate Session to begin. Skaters registered for the 12:30 timeslot may arrive at 12 PM and warm up on the side floors until their section begins, but may not enter the main floor until 12:30 PM.

Adult Level III starts weekly at 12 PM and Youth Level III starts weekly at 12:30 PM.
