In the Spring of 2027, Oaks Park will debut an all-new drop tower ride that will become the tallest drop tower in the Pacific Northwest and the most intense thrill attraction ever added to the park.
Towering high above the midway, the Larson International ARM Park Model Super Shot Drop Tower will give guests a breathtaking view of Portland before delivering a heart-pounding free-fall that riders will never forget! This addition marks a major milestone for "The Oaks." Construction gets underway in the summer of 2026, with the new drop tower anchoring a new attraction zone in the center of the park, filled with fun for the whole family. Something strange has always lurked beneath the lights and laughter at Oaks Park — and now he’s finally stepping into the spotlight.
According to Oaks Park lore, for generations Willamette Willy has quietly roamed the midway after dark, slipping through the shadows and keeping a watchful eye on the park and its guests. After spending decades hidden in the background, Willy has finally decided it's time to join the team and take on a new role as a carnival game barker, proudly welcoming guests to his slimy little corner of the midway. Never one to pass up a little friendly competition, Willy now challenges visitors to put their skills to the test in a classic knock-em-down style game!
Legendary local artist Mike Bennett has lent his talents to this project, giving new life to a favorite Oaks Park attraction!
With Bennett’s signature mix of playful weirdness, local folklore, and colorful storytelling, the revamped game feels perfectly at home at Oaks Park — a little funky, a little hilarious, and unmistakably Portland!
The newly refreshed Wrath of Willamette Willy game is now ready to challenge guests during every visit to Oaks Park. Stop by, test your skills, and enjoy this classic midway favorite as part of your day at the park.
