Open Skate Policies



Waivers: All visitors participating in roller skating must complete a waiver. Waivers for minors must be completed by a parent or guardian. Any individual who does not have a waiver on file will not be able to skate.

Purchasing: The number of admission tickets offered per Open Skate Session is limited; to guarantee admission you must purchase tickets online in advance. Tickets are available for online purchase starting 90 days in advance. Walk-in purchasing is subject to availability. A ticket is required for each person who is skating. Non-skaters are welcome to enter the building at no charge. If you wish to use a Chipper Card to book your ticket, call 503-233-5777 or email weborders@oakspark.com M-F between 9 AM and 4 PM.

Refunds and Cancellations: Open Skate admission tickets are non-refundable. Tickets are only valid for the date/time set at the time of purchase. In cases of emergency, the date for the ticket validity may be rescheduled by emailing weborders@oakspark.com a minimum of 72 hours before the original reservation date/time.

Skates: Standard skate rental is included at no additional charge.  Specialty skates are available to rent at the Skate Shop (subject to availability) for an additional fee of $3-5.  Personal skates are welcome, subject to inspection.

Music: Live Pipe Organ - SUN/THURS @ 7 PM.  Recorded Organ Music - SUN @ 1 PM.  All other sessions feature a mix of top-40s and retro hits.

Food/Beverages: Outside food/beverages are prohibited. The rink cafe will be operational during select Open Skate Sessions; view menu. Vending machines are available during all sessions.

Safe Skating Practices: Headgear, headsets, Bluetooth headphones, and sunglasses may not be worn while roller skating. Hats may not be worn while skating except when secured with a hat clip. Loose items are not permitted on the skating floor, e.g., cell phones, cameras, stuffed animals, etc. Loose clothing draped around the body may not be taken on the skating floor. All guests must wear skates to be on the skating floor. For everyone's safety, the following behaviors are prohibited: jumping, fast or reckless skating, weaving, zigzagging, and practicing roller derby moves through traffic. Pushing, shoving, racing, chasing, or playing tag is not permitted anywhere in the Roller Rink. All skaters must keep moving while on the skating floor; skaters may not stop and stand along the sidewalls or eat and drink over the walls. No one may pick up and/or carry anyone while wearing skates, including parents of small children. Sitting on, or jumping over, the sidewalls is not allowed. Sitting on laps or showing excessive affection is not permitted. Violation of any of these rules may result in eviction from the premises without refunds. Report all conflicts and safety concerns to the staff.

Parking: Parking fees apply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Parking fees are per day and are payable onsite via self-service parking meters or on your mobile device at t2p.mobi/oaks1905. Only credit/debit cards are accepted at the parking meters; please visit the Skate Shop to pay with cash. Parking spaces are first-come, first-served and the lot frequently fills to capacity; do not purchase your parking online until you have a parking space onsite. There are no refunds. Failure to pay the parking fee will result in penalties. Carpooling is strongly recommended.

Peak Rates are in effect before 4:45 PM on all Saturdays, Sundays, and select holidays during the amusement park season. Monthly/quarterly permits allow for unlimited parking, subject to parking space availability at the time of arrival, and are only available online at tocite.net/oakspark/Portal. Complimentary bus parking is available when arranged in advance. The parking lot is private property and is only available to visitors of Oaks Park.  Vehicles not parked in designated parking stalls and those that block the flow of traffic will be towed at the owner’s expense. The closest bus stop is approximately 1 mile away; visit the Tri-Met trip planner to plan your route. Bike racks are available near the Roller Rink. Rates are subject to change without notice.

Warm Weather Advisory: The Roller Rink does not have A/C. The main skating floor is cooled by a swamp cooler. Rick's Cafe is air-conditioned.

Birthday Shout-Outs: On SAT/SUN, we have scheduled times for sending out birthday wishes over the loudspeaker as follows: 2:30 PM, 4 PM, 8:30 PM, and 9:30 PM (SAT only). To add a name to our shout-out list, visit the Skate Shop. Individual birthday shout-outs are only made to call scheduled birthday party groups into the Cafe for their table time. During weekday sessions, please visit the Skate Shop for birthday shout-out options.

Theme Nights

Pre2K Night: On the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month, join DJ Maxx Bass during the evening Open Skate session for a throwback bash as he spins the raddest jams from the roller rink era of 1970-1999. Rock your retro gear and rewind to the good ol' days! Regular admission rates apply.
Glow Skate: Happening during the 7-10:30 PM Open Skate Session on the 3rd Friday of the month, October-May, our popular Glow Skate features our disco lights, black-out skate specials, and a free glow stick with paid admission. Regular admission rates apply.
